-Students will finish their second journal describing how their research is going

-What's the connection to me assignment: Students will discuss in a group how they harm the environment by using their everyday products. They will also discuss how they can reduce their impact on the environment.
-Students will learn about alternative energies and consider which one is the best. They will be asked to make a persuasive argument using a Prezi presentation that they will present to the class describing why their energy is the better alternative.
- Assignments of Week 4
-Their fourth journal will be discussing the energy they chose and why.
-Students will begin and finish their printmaking art project. This project will allow students to use art to represent the endangered species they are researching.
- Assignments of Week 5
- Students will complete their sixth journal after the lesson of filtering water to prevent pollution over the importance of clean water.
- Cricket Behavior Protocol: Students will design their inquiry
experiment involving crickets within the first fifteen minutes of class. They
will write up their lab experiment which they will turn in at the end of class.
They will begin their own experiment for the last thirty minutes and complete
their experiment
- Students will complete their seventh journal which will discuss how their experiment went and what they could have done differently.

-Research their final project.

- Rat Island Activity: After learning about how organisms adapt, students will pair up
and use their imagination to deisgn a rat that is adapted to survive on the
island (40 minutes). After they have done this, the class will discuss each
rat’s chance of survival.
- Assignments of Week 8
-Powerpoint presentation of their endangered species will also be due.
-Students will write their final journal in which they will self-critique themselves.
